Now talking about Aloo Koni pitika, it is an Assamese delicacy,Simple,easy yet very tasty with unmistakable fragrance of mustard oil. Main 2 ingredients of this dish is aloo i.e potato and egg.
What
is Pitika?
Pitika is an Assamese word which means mashed. It is a signature side dish of Assamese cuisine. Traditionally it is
served with rice an dal, which makes a complete healthy meal. There are
many different types of pitikas made from different vegetables, dry fish,
boiled eggs .
Aloo kani pitika is a very simple, easy and quick recipe
prepared with very minimal ingredients and is ready in less then 15 mins. Which
makes it a parfect dish for beginner.

Cook Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- Boiled egg - 1
- Boiled Potato - 1 medium –small size
- Chopped onion – 1 medium size
- 1-2 Dry red chillies / as per your taste (can also used green
chilles)
- ½ tbps roasted cumin powder (optional)
- ¼ tbps Black pepper
powder
- Chopped coriander leaves
- Salt - as per taste
- Mustard oil ½ tbps
How to make :
1. In a mixing bowl add the potatoes and
mash them smoothly.
2. Add the boiled egg and mash it too.
3. In case you prefer to use dry
chillies then dry roast it and then a rough powder of it.
4. Add the chopped onions, cumin powder,chillies,
coriander leaves, raw mustard oil and season with salt .
5. Mix them well together. Serve it as a
side dish with hot rice.
